A free workbook for small Saudi restaurants. One file. Works offline.
Restaurant Manager Workbook is a free, offline-first workbook for a small restaurant. It is a single HTML file — no install, no account, no subscription. Open it in a browser and it runs entirely on your device.
Small restaurants in Saudi Arabia that want one place for stock, recipes, sales, invoices, cash, salaries and reports — without paying for a monthly system or putting their data on someone else's server.
Open the app online — same file, runs in your browser.
Same demo business, same figures — as a spreadsheet. Needs a spreadsheet app; works offline once downloaded.
Both versions hold the same business and the same figures. Pick the one that fits how you work today — you can move up later.
| Excel workbook (.xlsx) | Web app (.html) | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A spreadsheet with 27 sheets: stock, recipes, sales, invoices, salaries, cash and reports, all as formulas. | A single file that runs in a browser: the same areas, plus guided screens, a setup wizard and automatic checks. |
| Who it fits | One outlet, owner-managed, someone comfortable in Excel who wants to see and change the workings. | A larger operation, or one where several people work in the same file. |
| Needs | A spreadsheet app. The QR picture on invoices needs internet and a spreadsheet app that supports the IMAGE function; without it, the QR data is still there as text. | A browser only. Works fully offline; nothing is installed. |
| What it cannot do | No multi-user sign-in, no shifts, no e-invoicing submission, no automatic checks beyond the Controls sheet, and some figures are worked out slightly differently from the app (see the User Guide). | It is a browser file, not a spreadsheet — you cannot edit its formulas, and it needs a browser to open. |
Excel is the starting point for a small business: one outlet, owner-managed, familiar Excel, no account, works offline. The web app is the step up for a larger operation: several people working in it with their own PINs and roles, shifts, ZATCA Phase 2 provider submission, and data kept in the browser's own storage with an installable app.
Moving up is a step, not a button press. Data does not move automatically from Excel to the web app. The path is: export your lists from Excel as CSV, set up the business in the app's setup wizard, and re-enter or import your opening balances. The app's JSON import takes its own JSON format, not the Excel file. The column mapping is in Data Format.
Your data stays yours. The workbook runs entirely in your browser. No account, no sign-up, and no data leaves your device unless you choose to share or export it. See Privacy.
Your data survives updates. A backup file (.json) exported by any older version loads in any newer version. To update: export your data, download the new file, import your data. See Updating to a newer version.
The workbook prepares ZATCA e-invoices offline (Phase 1 QR and Phase 2 XML), but it does not send anything to the tax authority. Live submission needs a ZATCA-approved provider of your choice. GOSI rates, zakat and Nitaqat figures are estimates — confirm them with GOSI or your accountant before real payslips or filings. See ZATCA and the User Guide.
